The Tortoise and the Hare, by Aesop.
A Hare one day ridiculed the short feet and slow pace of the Tortoise, who replied, laughing: "Though you be swift as the wind, I will beat you in a race." The Hare, believing her assertion to be simply impossible, assented to the proposal; and they agreed that the Fox should choose the course and fix the goal.
On the day appointed for the race the two started together. The Tortoise never for a moment stopped, but went on with a slow but steady pace straight to the end of the course. The Hare, lying down by the wayside, fell fast asleep.
At last waking up, and moving as fast as he could, he saw the Tortoise had reached the goal, and was comfortably dozing after her fatigue.
Slow but steady wins the race.

Questions
Questions people ask
Is it really free?
One document a day is free, and you do not need a card. If you want more, Premium has no daily limit. You get the same voice as Premium, and the whole document is read (up to about 3 hours), not just the first few minutes.
Will you charge my card?
Not unless you choose Premium. Free needs no card. Premium renews until you cancel, and you can cancel any time from Plan → Manage or cancel. You keep it until the end of the time you paid for.
What files can I use?
PDF, Word, text, or a web link. A Google Docs, Google Slides or Google Drive file link works too if it is shared as "Anyone with the link". A read-along can be up to about three hours long. For a long book, make one per chapter. Scans and photos of printed English pages work too (up to 30 pages). We skip page numbers, the header or footer that repeats on every page, endnote lists and web addresses, so you hear just the text.
Is my document private?
Your uploaded file is deleted once your read-along is ready. The finished page has a long link that is hard to guess, but anyone you give the link to can open it, so share it only with people you trust. We keep the finished read-along until you ask us to delete it. To tidy the text before it is read aloud we use an AI service (Claude, from Anthropic). Our privacy page says so.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It opens in your phone's web browser. There is nothing to install. There is no app yet.
